About this place
Inaseya Kitchen offers an inviting mix of light, wine-friendly small plates alongside hearty seafood mains. Anchored by daily deliveries of fresh fish from the port of Numazu, the kitchen draws on meats and seasonal vegetables from across Japan to craft approachable Italian cooking designed to accompany a good glass.
A natural way to start is with an assortment of appetizers, a fresh fish carpaccio, or cold plates featuring buffalo mozzarella. The hot selections move into crisp fritters, oven-baked dishes, and sizzling ajillo, all tailored to keep the wine flowing. Substantial pastas and rice dishes are equally well represented, from peperoncino tossed with boiled shirasu whitebait and aonori seaweed to a rich Bolognese, right down to the house specialty: seared local fish served over rice.
Beyond the indoor dining room, terrace seating allows guests to eat and drink in the open air. The restaurant frequently fills up in the evening, making an advance reservation advisable when planning dinner.
